A citation-backed map of who builds an ASML EUV scanner, which minerals feed those suppliers, and which firms buy the machines. Every number traces to a quoted source.
Countries are colored by a named-supplier count after canonicalizing overlapping extraction rows (Carl Zeiss SMT from five sources is one firm). It is not estimated euro content per machine. Public sources did not yield a per-supplier bill of materials; we did not invent one.
Bins: 1 / 2–3 / 4+. Unlisted countries stay at the basemap. Default count uses only the scanner-BOM category (Germany 7, Netherlands 5, United States 3, Taiwan 1).
The typical machine class is low-NA NXE (44 of 48 EUV systems recognized in ASML’s 2025 annual report). High-NA / EXE is a callout. Tooltip prices are USD ranges. We do not convert to euros or divide class revenue by unit count into an ASP.
Explorer is one world map with layer toggles (suppliers, materials, customers) and category filters.
Combined is a locked composition: scanner-BOM fill and arcs (including the Netherlands self-loop), tin and rare-earth dashes, and named EUV-buyer arcs. Ecosystem, DUV-only, downstream chip buyers, and annual-report all-products geography stay off.
The map is a globe: drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, double-click or Reset view to return to Veldhoven at front. Not every corridor is visible at once — turn the globe to see Asia, tin producers, and Taiwan.
euv_scanner — cited as supplying the NXE/EXE tool or as ASML in-house content of that tool (Zeiss, TRUMPF, Cymer/San Diego, VDL, Prodrive, ASML sites, …).
cset_ecosystem — CSET Table 1 names that supply the EUV ecosystem (mask, resist, inspection, labs), not the scanner BOM.
other — DUV-only, historical, hedged “companies like…”, and aggregates that do not count toward the choropleth.
Hedged low-confidence rows never enter euv_scanner. NTS does not appear: it was in the original vision but not in the cited sources.
Four overlapping share claims (CSET ~15% in-house, Entropy “over 90% outsourced”, Works in Progress “80%” of suppliers in Europe and the Middle East, 1999 EUV LLC 55% US commitment) are different scopes and are not addable. They are not fill and not arc width.
ASML Annual Report 2025 customer concentration (largest customer 23.9%, two largest 38.0%, four customers 61.2%) and geographic net sales are all products — EUV + DUV + metrology + service. They are a separate toggle and are never joined to TSMC, Samsung, or Intel.
USGS import-share and import-reliance percentages are US-only and are not drawn. Mine-production tonnes drive tin (to the US light source) and rare-earth (to Dutch stages) arcs.
Prefer the annual report, CSET, and USGS when they speak. Entropy Capital discloses that its analysis is largely AI-generated; treat it as secondary. It is still used for names that only it has (Prodrive, Edwards, …), with confidence carried in the tooltip.
Zeiss’s 24.9% stake is taken from the annual report (Carl Zeiss SMT Holding GmbH & Co. KG, 29 June 2017). Cymer’s close is 2013. CSET’s “$350 million EUV tool” is treated as High-NA (its own Reuters endnote).
